Dyers Voluntarily Leave Balmy Colorado Rockies to Return to Midwest Pizza Oven
It's true -- reputable sources tell us that five Dyers (Wes, Katie and Chase couldn't come) had spent an entire week in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, a few miles from the Continental Divide, when -- and nobody had a gun to their heads, either! -- they chose to descend the mountain, leaving the cool and pleasant weather behind, and drive straight into western Kansas where midday temperatures were hovering at 105 F!
What were they thinking?!!
Nevertheless, it is reported that while in Colorado (before taking leave of their senses) the Dyer clan swam to their hearts' content, bulleted down Howelsen Mountain on a 2,400 foot alpine slide called The Howler, hiked to Fish Creek Falls, encountered a half dozen elk wandering across a village road (they're huge when they're right outside your car window!), played cutthroat miniature golf, ordered moose track ice cream (and liked it a lot!), parked their derrieres in innertubes and floated down the Yampa River, and generally chilled out. A successful break from the daily grind by any standards.
Now... how to cope with the sweltering weather in Missouri...
